A body has been found in Abbey Caves in Northland, where a student went missing during a school trip in bad weather. The body was found late on Tuesday night after a police search using specialist equipment. The search for the missing student had been expected to conclude at 5pm on Tuesday, but equipment enabled it to continue into the evening. The student from Whangฤrei Boys’ High School was on a trip with a school party. While formal identification of the body has yet to take place, the police are ensuring the family is being offered support.
