A Woolworths-branded supermarket has reopened in New Zealand for the first time in years. The former Countdown Bethlehem supermarket in Tauranga has been rebranded as Woolworths Bethlehem after a five-month refurbishment. The store manager, who was part of the original team that opened the store nearly 20 years ago, expressed excitement about leading the reopening. This rebrand is part of Woolworths NZ’s $400 million investment in store modernization to better serve communities across the country. The transition from Countdown to Woolworths branding is expected to take a couple of years. Additionally, the company plans to launch a new loyalty program in the near future.
