New Zealand’s population has experienced significant growth, reaching 5.27 million people, marking a nearly three percent increase in the past year, according to Stats NZ. The data for the year ending September reveals a population growth of 138,000, with a natural increase (births minus deaths) accounting for 19,300 people and net migration (arrivals minus departures) contributing 118,800 people. The Mฤori population saw a 1.5 percent growth, adding 13,100 individuals, bringing the estimated Mฤori population to 904,100, constituting 17.3 percent of the national population. The median age of Mฤori individuals is notably lower than the national median ages, reflecting the demographic landscape of New Zealand.
