A new study by employment and hiring company Remote has ranked New Zealand as the best country in the world for work-life balance. The study assessed the quality of life-work balance in 60 countries based on various factors such as minimum wage, sick leave, maternity leave, healthcare availability, public happiness, average working hours, and LGBTQ+ inclusivity. New Zealand scored highly due to its generous statutory annual leave allowance, high rate of sick pay, and government-funded universal healthcare system. The study also found that Europe leads the way in work-life balance, with six European nations in the top 10. The United States ranked poorly due to a lack of statutory annual leave or sick pay and the absence of a universal healthcare system. The study highlights the importance of achieving a balance between personal and professional life and the need for continued efforts to promote work-life balance worldwide.
