Weather warnings and watches have been issued across parts of New Zealand as heavy rain and strong winds are expected to continue this week. Northland, Auckland, Coromandel, and Western Bay of Plenty are among the areas affected. Some households have experienced power outages, and some roads have been closed due to landslips. NIWA meteorologist Chris Brandolino says there is still uncertainty about where the “atmospheric river” would impact in the next few days, but the situation is expected to get worse before it gets better.
