President Ranil Wickremesinghe inaugurated the ‘INFOTEL Information Technology Exhibition,’ organized by the Federation of Information Technology Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS). The event, themed ‘Fuelling the Digital Economy,’ aims to support Sri Lanka’s digital transformation efforts. President Wickremesinghe emphasized the need for improving human resources, particularly in education, and called for industry-led solutions to boost market penetration and growth in the digital economy. He stressed the importance of post-school training and encouraged the industry to develop a strategy for market penetration to reach a $16 billion market goal. The President also highlighted the potential of the Aadhaar system and its integration into Sri Lanka’s digital landscape for more efficient government fund distribution.
