New Zealand has moved the application process for Permanent Resident Visa (PRV), Second or Subsequent Resident Visa (SSRV), and Variation of Travel Conditions of a Resident Visa (VOTC) to an online system. This change, effective from 29 January 2024, is aimed at streamlining the process by reducing the need for physical document submissions. Applicants can check their visa status online but must meet certain criteria, like holding a resident visa for at least two years. Paper applications are only accepted in special circumstances. Note that some visa types, like the Global Impact Permanent Resident Visa, are not included in this online shift.
