In Sri Lanka, there have been 265 road accidents in the past five days, resulting in the deaths of at least 25 people. Several others have also been injured in these accidents. Among the deceased were children aged between 18 to 20 years. The police spokesman has urged parents to be mindful when their children obtain vehicle licences and to be vigilant about them driving home after parties. He also called for the public to be extra careful during the upcoming festive season and to ensure that their celebrations do not end in sadness.
