TVNZ has announced its lineup of sports and competitions that will be available for free viewing starting from July 1. The sports hub on TVNZ+ will provide live events, replays, and highlights, while cricket and major events will be shown on TVNZ’s broadcast channels. This move comes after TVNZ acquired sports rights from Spark Sport. The streaming experience on TVNZ+ aims to be similar to the quality provided by Spark Sport. The coverage of local sports will feature Scotty Stevenson leading the commentary team, while international events on TVNZ+ will use a world commentary feed. The offerings include international cricket matches featuring the Black Caps and White Ferns, Super Smash T20 matches, domestic one-day international finals, England and Wales cricket, NFL matches, MotoGP, World Rally Championship, WTA Tennis and the US Open, netball finals, basketball, football leagues, athletics, golf, and rugby. TVNZ already broadcasts other events like BlackClash T20, King of the Ring kickboxing, The Tour of Southland cycling, and Extreme E racing.
