The New Zealand Government has announced a partnership with BlackRock, an American multinational investment company, to establish a $2 billion climate infrastructure fund called the New Zealand Net Zero Fund. The aim of the fund is to accelerate the adoption of green energy solutions such as solar, wind, green hydrogen, and battery storage, with the goal of helping New Zealand become one of the first countries in the world to achieve 100% renewable energy.

The collaboration with BlackRock is expected to boost the growth of renewable tech expertise in New Zealand and contribute to the country’s goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050. The fund will also support the development of clean technology innovations and create job opportunities in the low emissions economy.
