Hanmer Springs in Canterbury, New Zealand, has been ranked as one of the top 10 most relaxing destinations globally, according to a study by UK-based travel booking website SpaSeekers.com. The study analyzed the frequency of the word “relaxing” in online reviews to compile its list. Hanmer Springs secured the seventh spot on the list, with 1113 reviews mentioning relaxation. Iceland’s Blue Lagoon claimed the top spot with 4050 mentions. Hanmer Springs also topped the list for the most relaxing destinations in Oceania. The town, known for its hot pools, celebrated its 150th anniversary last year and is adding new state-of-the-art hydroslides to enhance the visitor experience.
Meanwhile, the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden in Sri Lanka has been ranked among the top 50 in the world. It is ranked 46th there and 13th in Asia.
